Saratoga High is hosting the Saratoga FTC Qualifier tournament on Sunday, Dec 5th.
Location/ParkingThe competition is being held at Saratoga High School at 20300 Herriman Avenue in Saratoga. There’s a big parking lot out front and signs will direct you where to enter. It will be by the gym which has a falcon painted on the side of it. Please park toward the end of the parking lot nearest the football field. Team Roster & VaccinationsWhen you arrive, you will need to turn in a completed copy of the attached form verifying vaccinations for your team members. Each team can bring their students on their roster and between 2-4 adults. We are not allowing additional spectators to keep the density of our crowd lower. If the coach/mentor can verify vaccinations, please do and sign that you have. If you aren't allowed, be sure that students bring the necessary cards with them and we'll check everyone at the door. Please also sign the appropriate area. Wrist bands will be handed out once a person is verified and everyone needs a wrist band to enter. Masks are also required for everyone at the event and we will have no extras if you forget. ScheduleWe plan for the pits to open at 8:00am, opening ceremony to start at 10:30am. We are planning a lunch break at 12:30pm-1:10pm and will do our best to stick to that schedule. The award ceremony will start somewhere 5:00pm-5:30pm. Teams will get a schedule of their judging and inspection when they arrive. Please plan to arrive promptly at 8:00am as check-in may take a little longer. Practice FieldWe will have a practice field in the pits but we will be limiting the number of teams and members around the field and depending on demand, will limit the time you can spend there. More information will be provided at the event. Be Prepared - InspectionsBeing able to stay on schedule is largely hinged on how well teams are prepared when they walk in the door. Team should all plan to bring their completed inspection checklists with them to the tournament (Game Manual 1 Appendix B & C). Each team is responsible for bringing their own controllers, chargers, etc. Teams who don't pass inspection in the allotted time will not be able to compete. Engineering PortfolioPlease bring a printed copy of your Engineering Portfolio and be sure it's meets the minimum criteria in the Game Manual. If you have an Engineering Notebook and want to bring a copy, it's up to you - it's optional and the judges will only look at it in your pit area. Control AwardIf your team wants to be considered for the Control Award, there's a special form that needs to be submitted during your judging sessions. You'll find the form in Appendix D & E of Game Manual 1. Judging FeedbackIf your team would like to receive feedback from the judges, please print and bring the required form with you. It can be found on the FTC Team Management Resource page of the FIRST website. Concessions/LunchWe will NOT have a concession stand. There are a variety of dining options in the area including a Safeway just up the road. Please be sure you plan ahead with water and snacks and plan to eat outside in our quad area, much of which is covered. Pack ListYou're unlikely to forget your robot, but also please remember these things:
1. Vaccination form and masks. (Individuals should bring proof of vaccination if not pre-screened by the coaches.) 2. Safety Glasses - we will not have extra pairs. Please bring your own for each member including your mentors and coaches. Make sure they aren't packed in the bottom of your bags - you'll need them to get into the pits. 3. Chargers - There will be a power strip at each pit table but be sure to pack your battery, phone and laptop chargers! 4. Portfolio, Control Award Submission and Judging Feedback if applicable 5.
