On December 10, 6165 Cuttlefish competed in the Piedmont Qualifying Tournament at Piedmont Middle School. The team won three of their five qualification matches and ranked second before elimination. They went on to win the tournament as the first-pick of Team 14259 TURBΩ V8. 6165 won the Inspire Award at the end of the tournament, qualifying them for NorCal Regionals.

From June 24 to June 26, 6165 Cuttlefish competed in the Maryland Tech Invitational (MTI), an off-season event that brings together teams around the world who have demonstrated excellence in STEM. The team won six of their eight qualification matches and finished as semifinalists. They also received an honorable mention for the Hardware Mastery Award, which honors teams that have the most innovative and robust hardware solution to the year's challenge.

They competed in the Jemison Division and were selected to be part of the second seed alliance. 6165 and their alliance partners made it to the division semifinals. The Cuttlefish were also one of three Inspire Award Finalists at Worlds!
Season Recap:
FTCOn Sunday, March 13, MSET's three FTC teams (6165 Cuttlefish, 7390 Jellyfish, and 7641 Bettafish) competed in the NorCal Regional Tournament. After the qualifying matches, the Cuttlefish and Jellyfish placed 1st and 3rd in the Gold Division while the Bettafish placed 2nd in the Silicon Division. After many exciting elimination matches, the Cuttlefish and Jellyfish finished as tournament finalists. The Jellyfish went on to win the Control Award, and the Cuttlefish won the Inspire Award, qualifying for the FTC World Championships in Houston!

They played well in the qualifying matches, ranking third, and were the first-pick of the second alliance. 7390 and their alliance partners went on to win semifinals and one out of the three finals matches. The team later won the Inspire Award, qualifying them for the NorCal Regionals.

They were the first seed after the qualifying rounds and went on to win the tournament as the alliance captain, qualifying them for the NorCal Regionals. The team also won the Control Award and were the 2nd runner up for the Inspire Award.

The team won all of their qualifying matches, and went on to win the tournament as the first-pick of the winning alliance. 6165 won the Inspire Award at the end of the tournament, qualifying them for the NorCal Regionals.

CalGames, an offseason competition at Lynbrook High School, took place this past weekend (10/1-10/3). 649 Fish finished eighth after the first day, but moved to third seed the day after. The team lost in the first round of playoffs. They later won the Founder's Award, which "recognizes the organization or individual that has contributed significantly to the growth of FIRST. "
